Boise Police Arrest Three Suspects in Robbery and Shooting Investigation

The Boise Police Department (BPD) has announced the arrest of three suspects in connection with a robbery and shooting that occurred on the night of January 19, 2025. The incident, which took place in the 1400 block of N. Cole Rd., resulted in one man sustaining life-threatening injuries and a woman sustaining non-life-threatening injuries.

Details of the Incident

At approximately 10:09 p.m., officers responded to reports of a shooting at the N. Cole Rd. location. Upon arrival, they discovered two injured victims—a male adult and a female adult. Both were transported to a local hospital for medical care, with the male victim in critical condition.

Through a swift and thorough investigation, officers gathered evidence at the scene and were able to identify a vehicle believed to be involved in the incident. The vehicle was tracked to a residence on the 300 block of N. Meridian Rd. in Meridian.

Apprehension of Suspects

Officers established a perimeter around the residence, and the Meridian Special Tactics Group was called in to assist. At around 1:00 a.m., three male suspects were safely taken into custody without further incident.

The investigation revealed that the suspects and victims initially met near the 1400 block of N. Cole Rd. in Boise. A dispute over property ensued, during which the suspects reportedly took the victims’ phone, wallet, and ID. The victims followed the suspects in their vehicle, which led to a second confrontation. During this encounter, the suspects fired shots at the victims, injuring both.

Road Closures and Coordination

In the aftermath of the shooting, roads around the 1400 block of N. Cole Rd. were temporarily closed for the investigation but have since been reopened. Similarly, roads near the 300 block of N. Meridian Rd. were closed during the suspects’ apprehension but are now fully open.

Arrests and Charges

The following individuals were arrested in connection with the incident:

  • Daniel Alaniz Pineda, 19, of Meridian

    • Charges: Robbery (F) – 2 counts, Aggravated Battery (F) – 2 counts, Enhancement for use of a deadly weapon (F)

    • Pineda was booked into the Ada County Jail.

  • Juvenile Male #1

    • Charges: Robbery (F)

    • Booked into the Ada County Juvenile Detention Center.

  • Juvenile Male #2

    • Charges: Robbery (F)

    • Booked into the Ada County Juvenile Detention Center.
